How do you nurture a teenager’s desire for freedom and independence? IDEOLOGIST’s clients chose a bold solution: they purchased a separate apartment for their sons near their own home, with a clear focus on brothers’ shared love for technology and construction.

The boys spent much of their time assembling or modifying equipment and were well-versed in using soldering irons and micro-welding tools. Recognizing the messiness of their hobbies, the architects proposed dividing the apartment into two functional zones: communal and private. Upon entering, there’s a “workshop-garage” area with a massive table for group projects and ample storage for parts, tools, and equipment.

A small corridor leads to the living room and kitchen, and off that space are three bedrooms. To avoid conflicts among the siblings, the bedrooms are designed uniformly, differentiated only by a decorative panel above each bed tailored to the personal taste of each brother. In the common areas, the boys can watch movies together or host friends, while the kitchen, equipped with all the necessary appliances, allows them to cook whatever they please.

The initial apartment layout was accepted immediately, but the color scheme and interior style evolved. The original plan featured bright colors and playful elements, but nearly completed, a decision was made to shift toward a more mature, calm palette and sophisticated textures.

This approach not only created a timeless interior but also aimed to cultivate an aesthetic sense in the boys. The final design was warmly welcomed by both the clients and the future residents.
